Episode 1 and 2 of Mr. Queen and I can say that it will be a roller coaster of emotions. It started of with a good background of how Jang Bong Hwan (Choi Jin Hyuk) is as a person and how did he end up being trapped inside Queen So Yong’s body (Kim Hye Sun).

With Jin Hyuk’s voice in narration, one can’t help but imagine this hunk of a guy as the Queen and how it makes every encounter with King Cheoljong (Kim Jung Hyun) hilarious. The fact that he knows the king as a “sex maniac” of the Joseon dynasty and Bong Hwan himself is a flirty man of the present time trapped in a queen’s body makes every scene full of insinuation.
But as much as there are lots of funny scenes in the first two episodes, I already anticipate some heart breaking scenes in the future.

There are lots of things we can look forward to:
- does the concubine Jo Hwa Jin and King Chuljeong really love each other mutually?— it already breaks my heart for the real So Yong
- will Queen So Yong be the third party to the love of Jo Hwa Jin— whether as the queen herself who loves the king or as Bong Hwan who likes the royal concubine.
- what is the “relationship” of the queen to her cousin Kim Byeong In—I dunno if it’s just me but it seems that, that guy has lingering feelings for the queen
As of writing, Mr. Queen already surpassed the rating of its predecessor, Start-Up by being the 2nd highest tvN premiere rating next to Mr. Sunshine.
Let’s see if they will be able to maintain the interest of the audience with the storyline.
PS: Shin Hye Sun is killing the role. She’s really good and impressive in the first two episodes.
